Surrounded by its ancient walls, Castello is the oldest district of Cagliari, full of historic buildings, it is located in the highest and most central part of the city and offers incredible views towards the new city, the port and the sea. While walking you can admire the Elephant Tower, the Tower of San Pancrazio, the imposing Bastion of Saint Remy, which through its monumental staircase directly connects Castello and Villanova, as well as admiring historic buildings that were once noble residences. You can find small artisan shops, trattorias and restaurants in full Sardinian tradition, but also places for excellent aperitifs and cocktails.
